2006 Direction & Goals

Adopt best practices from our regional Michigan clubs and other alumni organizations

Expand our network through efforts with other business school alumni organizations by co-hosting events and coordinated planning and thereby providing more opportunities and value to our members

Provide improved communications and services through the technology tools the university is now providing our clubs

Reach out to area alumni who may have lost touch with the organization, or have recently moved into the area

Solicit and increase the participation of our more senior and influential alumni to increase the power of our network and to provide the best events and services possible

Website and Email Update

Our new website is hosted by the business school and uses their website template.

http://webuser.bus.umich.edu/Clubsites/WashingtonDC/

The site will allow us to synchronize our email list with the business schools online directory. Please update your contact information online with the business school. It will soon automatically update our mailing lists. The website will allow you to go to a single place for all events, contact information, and news. It will also provide us an easier process in which to provide that information.

Expanding the Network

We have contacted our regional clubs, many of the top ten business school alumni clubs, and local business school alumni clubs to gather and identify best practices. The primary take-aways are:

  • Co-host events and coordinate with other schools to provide: greater networking opportunities, better planned and more well attended events, and more prominent speakers and sponsors
  • Some regions, such as Denver, have taken this to a more formalized process with highly successful results -- schools in this area are interested in establishing a similar process

Spring Event

We are planning an event for this spring...more details to follow...
