Kenneth G. Lieberthal
Professor of Political Science, William Davidson Professor of Business Administration, Distinguished Fellow and Director for China at the William Davidson Institute, Research Associate of the Center for Chinese Studies

Dr. Lieberthal holds several positions at the University of Michigan: Professor of Political Science, William Davidson Professor of Business Administration at the Ross School of Business, Distinguished Fellow and Director for China at the William Davidson Institute, and Research Associate of the Center for Chinese Studies. He has been on the Michigan faculty since 1983. He taught at Swarthmore College for 1972-83. He has a B.A. from Dartmouth College, and two M.A.'s and a Ph.D. in Political Science from Columbia University.

Dr. Lieberthal is also Nonresident Senior Fellow in Foreign Policy Studies of the Brookings Institution, where he was a Visiting Fellow in Foreign Policy Studies for November-December 2000 and again for the 2004-2005 academic year.

Dr. Lieberthal served as Special Assistant to the President for National Security Affairs and Senior Director for Asia on the National Security Council from August 1998 to October 2000. His government responsibilities encompassed American policy toward all issues involving Northeast, East, and Southeast Asia.

Dr. Lieberthal has written and edited nearly a dozen books and authored about five dozen published articles. His latest book is Governing China: From Revolution Through Reform.

Professor Lieberthal was Director of Michigan's Center for Chinese Studies for 1986 89. He has consulted widely on Chinese and Asian affairs and serves or has served as a consultant for the U.S. Departments of State, Defense, and Commerce, the World Bank, the Kettering Foundation, the Aspen Institute, the United Nations Association and corporations in the private sector. He is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations in New York, the Cosmos Club in Washington, D.C., and a number of professional organizations.
 
 
 
John A. Antone
Vice President, Sales and Marketing Group, General Manager, Asia-Pacific,Intel Corporation

John A. Antone is vice president for the Sales and Marketing Group and general manager for Intel Corporation in the Asia-Pacific. He is responsible for all sales, marketing and enabling of Intel products in this region. He shares this role with Ian Yang.

Previously, Mr. Antone served as vice president of Intel K.K. from 1998, and president of Intel K.K. since March 2000. He managed all Intel activities in Japan, including sales, marketing, and purchasing.

He joined Intel in 1986 as a product marketing engineer in Arizona and California. In 1989, Mr. Antone became a field sales engineer and in 1992 he was a manager in the Mobile and Handheld Products Group.

Mr. Antone graduated from the University of Michigan with a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering in 1984. He received his master's degree from the University of Michigan in 1986.
 
 
 
Don Harvey
Vice-President, International Practice, Navigant Consulting

Don Harvey is the Managing Director for Navigant Consulting’s Internationl Construction Practice based in London. Don has worked to resolve construction disputes on projects throughout the world: the Philippines, Taiwan, Korea and most recently Nanjing, China. With construction booming in Asia, Navigant Consulting is expanding their operations in China, recently opening offices in Beijing, Shanghai, and Hong Kong. Don will be discussing how to grow a professional services firm in China. Navigant Consulting is a specialized independent consulting firm providing dispute, financial, regulatory and operational advisory services to government agencies, legal counsel and large companies facing the challenges of uncertainty, risk, distress and significant change.

Don Harvey graduated from the University of Virginia with a bachelor's degree in civil engineering and received his MBA from George Washington University.
 
 
 
Calvin Quek
Vice President, Asia, Global Catalyst Partners (GCP)

Mr. Quek is currently responsible for GCP's China investments and business development of portfolio companies. GCP is a fund headquartered in Silicon Valley with offices in Beijing, Japan and Singapore and $300 million under management. GCP is a highly active investor focused on investing in leading-edge seed and early-stage technology companies in the semiconductor, software, communications and consumer electronics industries.

He joined GCP in July 2002 as Vice President, Asia Pacific, Beijing. Prior to GCP, he was Director of Investments for Venture TDF China from 2000 to 2002. He served as General Manager of the Software Division for L&H China from 1999 to 2000. Prior to that, he was the Business Development Manager in China for AsiaWorks, a start-up company developing speech and handwriting recognition technologies and applications which was acquired by L&H in 1999. He served as a consultant and Head of Research for Corporate Executive Search in London and Singapore from 1996 to 1998.

Mr. Quek received a BA in Economics and Chinese Studies from Leeds University in the UK.
