Bradley D. Farnsworth

Brad Farnsworth is director of the Center for International Business Education (CIBE) at the Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan. He also teaches courses on business in China, international management, the world economy, and globalization to MBAs, undergraduates, and executives.
CIBE is a national resource center for promoting research and teaching in international business. Its activities include faculty research grants, foreign language courses, study abroad, joint projects with other business schools, executive training programs, course development, and student internships and consulting projects. It recently launched a program in micro-finance. More information on CIBE is available at www.umich.edu/~cibe.
Before coming to Michigan in 1991, Brad served as associate director of the Yale-China Association, a century-old educational organization based at Yale University. During that time he developed one of the first management training programs with foreign cooperation in mainland China.
He has consulted with companies doing business in China, working primarily with the automotive industry. He serves on a number of advisory boards and committees, including the Michigan District Export Council, which provides export advice to Michigan firms, and the executive committee of the UM Center for Chinese Studies.
Since the early 1980s, Brad has traveled regularly to Hong Kong and many parts of China. He has been married to Elaine Wilson for twenty-three years and has two children, Benjamin (17) and Irene (14). He holds graduate degrees in business and Chinese studies from Washington University in St. Louis, both awarded in 1981. |

Matthew Tuchow

Matthew Tuchow is a consultant and lawyer specializing in corporate social responsibility. His expertise includes corporate compliance programs, corporate responsibility beyond compliance, public and private reporting protocols, stakeholder engagement and partnerships, proactive counseling on issues relating to human rights, labor law and health and safety, community relations, philanthropy and government relations, and crisis management.
Prior to establishing Tuchow Associates in 2003, Mr. Tuchow served as Senior Advisor for Global Affairs for U.S. Congressman Sander Levin. In that capacity he served as Congressman Levin’s liaison to the Congressional Executive Commission on China, working on human rights, worker rights, rule of law and corporate social responsibility issues. From 1994 to 2001, Mr. Tuchow was Senior Counsel for The Gap, Inc. where he handled diverse corporate
social responsibility, supply chain management and international legal issues. Mr. Tuchow was awarded both the Operational Excellence and
President's Award at Gap for building consensus among diverse interest groups, resolving legal issues and developing and implementing programs to avoid risk, comply with applicable laws and thereby enabling key businesses to thrive. Prior to joining The Gap, Mr. Tuchow practiced law in San Francisco and in Tokyo, Japan for private firms where he handled both transactional and litigation matters. He was the founder and initial Chair of the Asian Practice Committee of the San Francisco Barristers Club. Mr. Tuchow has taught at the Chinese University of Hong Kong and at the University of Geneva's Business School and has served in numerous leadership positions in community organizations. He is a graduate of Yale College and Harvard Law School and is a member of the California, Michigan and District of Columbia Bar Associations.

Raj Gilda

Raj Gilda is Vice President of Corporate Strategy at Citi Cards, a business unit of Citigroup and has been working in the financial services sector for more than 10 years.
To balance the usual corporate life with a desire to make a difference in the lives of poor, Raj co-founded a New York based non-profit Lend-A-Hand India, after graduating from business school. Lend-A-Hand India provides vocational training, career development, employment, and entrepreneurial
opportunities for young boys and girls in urban and rural communities. So far, over 750 young boys and girls have benefited from the programs pursued by Lend-A-Hand India. Raj is responsible for the fund-raising and public relations. Recently, Raj received an award for exceptional community service from the President of the United States in June 2005.
Apart from Lend-A-Hand India, Raj actively volunteers with Junior Achievement, Operation HOPE, Soup Kitchen and other local community based organizations in New York.
Prior to Citigroup, Raj worked with Deloitte Consulting in its New York office, Mahindra British Telecom in its Belfast and Mumbai offices, and the National Stock Exchange and IL&FS in Mumbai.
Raj graduated from the business school at University of Texas at Austin in 2001. He is also holds CFA certification. He received his undergraduate degree in Electronics Engineering from University of Poona in India.

William Mah
Taiwan Lung Meng Technology

After graduating from the School of International Affairs of Columbia University in 1984, Mr. Mah started his career as an analyst in Wall Street. Later, he went back to Taiwan to join several financial institutions in extensive areas in research, trading, marketing and fund management. He also headed the department of fund management of Nan Shan Life Insurance (AIG subsidiary in Taiwan) and the Zurich Investment Trust Company.
Mr. Mah has advised several companies in fund raising, corporate strategy and management as an investment banker. In his current role, Mr. Mah assists the Chairman of Lung Meng in corporate finance and international marketing. he is also a director of board of Exquisite Optical Technology.
