ASEAN
The ASEAN Panel will highlight some of the region’s specific business opportunities and challenges. The region is experiencing tremendous economic growth and development. However, political instability and less-developed infrastructures continue to pose challenges to the steady trend of business growth. Business development with the ASEAN region requires a unique business approach, region-specific awareness, market understanding, and creative ideas. The panel will bring together several noted individuals with real life experience in the region.

Greater China
The China Panel will introduce the business opportunities in China from the perspective of large multinational corporations. The presentations will cover both the strategic position that the China market is contributing to the global economy and the challenges provided by these opportunities. We hope the panel will answer many of your questions on why and how to do business in the largest emerging market in the world, and what the China market and Chinese products mean to the rest of world.

Indian Subcontinent
Just as China is the world’s manufacturing outsourcing capital, India has undoubtedly emerged as the world’s services outsourcing destination of choice. This year’s India Panel explores this service economy from two perspectives:

1) How do the large Indian firms in the IT and IT-enabled sector complete with the likes of Accenture and IBM in the global service provider marketplace?
2) When Western firms set up fully-owned service arms in India, what are their key strategic and tactical concerns?

Please join the faculty and students of the Ross School of Business as we delve into these and other India-specific issues with our distinguished panelists.

Japan
The entertainment content industry is currently the fastest growing industry in Japan. From animation to videogame and mobile content, the current boom in the entertainment content industry is spilling over to other related industries. Recent changes in policy by the Japanese government to help facilitate the export of Japanese entertainment content have resulted in many ambitious Japanese entrepreneurs launching new businesses in this space. Please join our distinguished speakers to hear a discussion on the evolution of the Japanese entertainment content industry.

Korea
The Korea Panel is proud to host leadership from two highly influential business entities, the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and Samsung Electronics. As Korea transitions from emerging to developed nation status, both companies and citizens now face a dynamic set of global opportunities and responsibilities.

How will Korea’s leading companies choose to address the growing needs of globalization? Will the ways countries and companies interact with one another evolve as Korean socio-economic changes occur?

Leveraging upon experiences from the IMF and Samsung Electronics, the panel will highlight Korea’s current role within the global economy, address strategies for increasing global brand awareness, and provide insights into what we can expect in the future.

Healthcare
The Healthcare Panel will talk about the challenges faced by healthcare companies and organizations doing business in Asia and how to overcome those challenges in order to develop the healthcare, pharmaceutical, medical device, and biotechnology markets in Asia. Panelists are representatives from prominent organizations that are active in the Asian healthcare markets. There is a high level of interest in healthcare business in Asia, and we are hopeful that the Healthcare Panel will provide the attendees with valuable perspectives on healthcare issues in the region.

The Finance Panel will present information on investments in Asia and the growing M&A market. This panel provides a unique opportunity for attendees to hear about finance in Asia from practitioners with real-life experience in this area.

Women in Business
In its inaugural appearance in the Asia Business Conference, the Women in Business Panel will present the unique perspectives of women leaders on various aspects of conducting business in and with Asia. With the changing face of businesses in Asia and the growing involvement of women, we will explore the equation with insights from women who have experience with Asian businesses. We will hear, learn and share with our very own faculty and eminent experts from the realms of Asian businesses as they recount their experiences about the challenges and rewards of leading businesses in emerging economies.

Sustainable Development
The Sustainable Development Panel is one of the newest additions to this year’s Asia Business Conference. While many parts of Asia are experiencing rapid growth, we cannot forget the need to address social and environmental issues in the region. The Sustainable Development Panel will host speakers in the public and private sectors who are working towards eradicating poverty, improving education, and preserving the environment.
