Introduction •
Until
recently, the $180,000 student managed fund was run as part of a class (FIN725).
Starting in October, the fund will be run by the investment association in
collaboration with the finance faculty. Investment management club is also
working with school faculty and administration to increase the size of the
fund considerably, through alumni donations. •
The fund seeks
long-term appreciation of capital. The fund seeks this objective
through a broadly diversified portfolio of equity securities within the
approximate range of the market capitalization of companies constituting the
S&P MidCap 400 Index. The fund is a long only equity fund which tracks
the S&P Mid-cap index, with a maximum tracking error of 5%. •
Stock
selection is done through a combination of quantitative screening and
