Two teams from Section 5 finished among the top five groups in a
recent case-study competition. This easily positions the
Section 5 participants as one of the strongest contingents in

15, 2001: Eric Weber is running the Detroit marathon
to raise money towards a memorial to UMBS alumni who were
victims of the September 11 attack. Learn how you can help.
Update: How
was it? October
15, 2001: Congratulations to a couple of people in
Section 5 who recently scored 100% on their Finance exam.
The editorial staff knows what you're thinking: "It
must've been Eric and Xavier, all they do is study
finance." Well, rest easy, we certainly didn't
make a perfect score! To our silent
wizards, the rest of us who support the curve from below extend
a hearty congratulations and our future portfolios for your
safe-keeping.
Section
Five and Six Mixer: (October 12, 2001): Friday
evening, The "56er" wine and cheese party witnessed
some of Ann Arbor's most sophisticated socialites sampling a
variety of choice wines and fromage. Thanks to our hosts
Amy Steffek and Michael Lewis. Someone from section six had a
cool digital camera, so you might soon see some great shots at
their page. Update:
(October 13, 2001): Simmering stories and fond
recollections are starting to develop from yesterday's
party. Happily, Jordan was able to capture some of our
festivities. We see Probal and
Erkin along with some folks from Six. Here's a nice
group shot of Michigan's
brightest. Adam
and Jordan chronicled, truly to history's benefit, and someone
"holding court" (to borrow someone else's
words). October 8 2001:
Our section recently acquired a web-camera. We are
currently soliciting recommendations for use at egweber@umich.edu October 5&6,
2001: Section Five members gathered on Friday evening
to see "Second City" a celebrated comedy troop from
Detroit. The next morning, after a day's of rain let up,
more of our section gathered to help support Habitat for
Humanity. Coupled with mid-term preparation for Finance,
this was a very busy weekend. [Read
