I currently teach Corporate Financial Policy (F621) and Corporate Financial Strategy (F647) in the day and evening MBA program and Empirical Corporate Finance in the PhD program.
F621 provides an in depth understanding and practical applications of how managers make corporate finance decisions. The specific topics covered include: Capital Structure, Security Issuance including Initial Public Offerings, and Corporate Payout Policy. This course uses both lecture and case discussions to investigate these topics

F647 highlights the role of finance in strategic decision making and extends, integrates, and applies what students have learned in earlier finance courses. Specifically, we will examine the interplay between the asset management issues developed in Valuation (F615) and the liability management issues developed in Corporate Financial Policy (F621). This course is a case based course.

Both of these courses are highly recommended for the Finance major wishing to pursue a career in either a Corporate Finance group of an Investment Bank or in a Corporation.  F621 is also an important course for all MBAs, as it is a foundations course for Corporate Finance.  F647 studies the interplay between Strategy and Corporate Finance and is therefore particularly important for students considering careers in Consulting, Restructuring, or Corporate Strategy. I recommend both of these courses to all majors.

F885 is a seminar style PhD course.  We cover four papers a week, concentrated on one topic. The course requires students to critique and discuss the papers. The course concludes with a paper proposal.

Students can find more information about these courses on the C-tools webpage for the class.
