I have long been interested in traditional questions of corporate governance (understanding the relationship between managers and owners as mediated by the board of directors and disciplined by the market for corporate control). Recently, I have begun to consider how society figures in the governance of the firm. My vitae gives you a good sense of
my earlier work as well as the questions and
issues that capture my attention these days. Maybe one of
these papers will catch your eye. You might also be interested in the video
entitled The Delmar Dog Butler. It is a 12-minute look at the
complex issues that fuel the debate about outsourcing and offshoring.
I hope that you will walk away from it with more questions than answers.
It is meant to stimulate conversation. And finally, take a look at the
syllabus for my course entitled "The Corporation in Society." It will
give you a good sense of how my students and I consider these issues
every year. |
