We are Glad to have you in Ann Arbor
Our Ross Partners International Committee will be here to help you feel
at home in Ann Arbor by creating a venue for making new friends and sharing
similar experiences and concerns. We are a diverse group of people from
different countries, cultures and past experience, but driven by a similar
enthusiasm to make these two years in Ann Arbor interesting and fun.
Also, we act as representatives of international partners to the MBA community.
We share our internationally diverse culture by presenting foreign films
and beautiful cuisine from all over the world to the broad Ross Partner
community, volunteering in various organizations, being active in the
UM NGO fellows program, attending university classes and speaker series,
and more.
Nearly half of Ross Partners members are International Partners!
Your international committee chairs Ayaris and Carol are here to get to know
you, answer your concerns about international relocation and life in
a new country, and welcome you to our diverse community. We have prepared
and customized essential and useful information for International partners,
such as visa and travel regulations, volunteer opportunities, English
language classes, moving/ traveling tips, international grocery stores
in town, cost of living, and more. We encourage you to use this information
wisely and often check the Ross Partners website for latest information,
events, and programs. Finally, we always welcome your ideas and opinions
about our activities.
Sincerely,
Ross Partners International Committee Chairs

Incoming International Events:
So this is how it goes
by Marcela Sotela
You come to a new country.
The food doesn´t taste the same.
The language is different.
The faces are not familiar.
The weather, well, it could be better.
Your family is not near,
neither are you friends.
Then you realize you are staying here, and you better get used to it.
So you go out and buy new ingredients for the old recipes.
Find comfortable clothes for the new weather.
Talk to people so you can practice the language.
And then,
one day,
you find a warm smile.
And then another.
Until you realize you have new friends and a new "family".
See,
you were home all the time.
