The Ross Partners Social Committee is one of the greatest opportunities for partners of Ross students to learn about and enjoy all that the Ann Arbor and Ross MBA communities have to offer. Whether you enjoy an evening on the town, a thoughtful discussion about a favorite book, or exploring the many activities in and around Ann Arbor, Ross Partners Social Committee is planning something just for you! We hope you will take some time to learn about what this active and resourceful group can offer you, and we hope to see you at our next event.
What does the Social Committee do?
Where do we start? As a member of Ross Partners you will be invited to events such as movie night, a day at the spa, and potluck dinners. You'll enjoy outings to festivals and sporting events and, of course, you will have a group of friends eager to experience all that life in Ann Arbor and at the University of Michigan has to offer. Read on to learn more about what social outlets you will gain from membership in Ross Partners.
Book Club
We don't have just one - we have TWO! Whether you enjoy reading fictional books or books with a cultural twist, we are sure one of our book clubs will suit you. Monthly meetings provide Ross Partners the chance to get together with a group of friends and have lively conversation over a great book. No need to make a full commitment - just read what you like and come when you can. There is always room for one more!
Activity Night
What do you get when you mix Ross Partners, conversation, and a variety of fun activities? A great time! Our activity nights, held every other week, are just what you need to get through. Friendly discussion is the main ingredient for a fabulous time. Each week a different member hosts this gathering of first or second year partners, and we get together for a fun, low-key evening. Hope to see you there!
Happy Hours
Ross Partners sponsors happy hours at local watering holes for Partners and MBA students. Almost monthly, you will have the chance to sample delicious locally brewed beers at Leopold Bros. or Arbor Brewing Company, taste a myriad of fine wines in the basement of the Earle, or indulge in sangria at Dominik's. Don't forget to attend some of the year's special happy hours - a tribute to the Irish at our St. Patrick's Day celebration, and a fond farewell to the second year Ross Partners and MBA students in April.
Summertime
Feeling a little sad that the MBA students are leaving for the summer? Don't be! Ross Partners Social Committee has plenty of activities planned for your enjoyment. Barbeques, pool parties, and canoeing on the Huron River are just a few that will get you out and about and enjoying the warm weather while its here. We will be sure not to miss the Art Fair, as it comes to town in late July, and no doubt we will be organizing groups to attend the Ann Arbor Summer Festival and Top of the Park on Friday evenings. We hope you'll plan to be around during the summer!
Ross Partners Social Committee Teams with:
- MBA Kids to host some memorable fun for the whole family. Ice skating at Yost arena, pumpkin picking, cookie decorating, and bowling are just a few of the activities you and yours can enjoy as members of Ross Partners.
- Community Service to organize groups for events such as Race for the Cure, the Aids Walk, and other charitable (and fun!) events
