Interests: Intellectual Property, Technology Strategy, and Innovation

Rosemarie Ziedonis is an Assistant Professor of Strategy at the University of Michigan’s Ross School of Business and Co-Director of the Center for Law, Economics, and Technology at the University of Michigan Law School. She earned her Ph.D. in Business and Public Policy from UC Berkeley’s Haas School of Business and undergraduate degree in economics from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. Before joining the Michigan faculty in 2002, Rosemarie was an Assistant Professor at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.

Rosemarie’s research examines the value and strategic use of intellectual property, as well as broader aspects of technology and innovation management. Her studies have been published in top academic journals, including Organization Science, Management Science, the Rand Journal of Economics, and the Strategic Management Journal. Her “patent paradox” study with Bronwyn Hall (Rand Journal, 2001) is an ISI Web of Science top-cited paper in the fields of Economics and Business.

Rosemarie currently serves on the editorial boards of the Academy of Management Journal and the Strategic Management Journal. She teaches Corporate Strategy (Strat601) and the Strategic Management of Intellectual Capital (Strat553) to MBA students.
